Our Commitments

To the Future
2020 Vision: Be the Church for today, and tomorrow!

Our building is in need of repair and restoration to make it the welcoming, safe and sustainable place for worship, education and service to our community and our world that we want it to be.

We are nearing the end of Phase I of our 2020 Vision Campaign and will soon proceed to Phase II - with plans for improving lighting, audio/visuals, landscaping, and other finishes as funds allow. We thank those who have given or are continuing to contribute to the 2020 Vision Capital Campaign through pledges. Your faith and generosity are making this work possible. Thank you for helping us achieve our goals to make these buildings more safe, welcoming, and sustainable.

Together we can answer God's call to be the church for today and tomorrow. Check out the latest construction photos.

To the Wider Church

Our Denomination and Conference

We belong to the United Church of Christ and the Central Pacific Conference. As members of these bodies, we send delegates to annual meetings, participate in ministry teams, and take on leadership positions. Pastor Adam currently serves as Moderator-Elect of the Central Pacific Conference.

Ecumenical and Interfaith Partnerships

We are an active member of many local ecumenical and interfaith partnerships including SOAR, IMIRJ, Interfaith Action Network, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, and Community of Welcoming Congregations.

To our Community
150 years on the corner of 5th and Main!

For 150 years we have been doing ministry in the heart of Hillsboro. Housing the homeless, feeding the hungry, preaching the good news of God's Love, ministering to the needs of a growing community. In addition to our own church programs, many community groups use our facilities. We host groups such as HomePlate Youth Services, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and many others. Learn more about our service in the local community.

Our church facilities include two buildings, a center courtyard, and the parking lot and are wheelchair accessible. Contact us if you are interested in renting our facilities or partnering with us to serve our community.

To Each Other

Since the demands of love are great, we covenant to support the church and each other with our prayers, our gifts, and our selves."
- First Congregational UCC Membership Covenant

We fulfill our covenant to each other through:

The United Church of Christ (UCC) is a distinct and diverse community of Christians that come together as one church to join faith and action. With over 5,000 churches and nearly one million members across the U.S., the UCC serves God in the co-creation of a just and sustainable world. We believe in a God that is still speaking, a God that is all-loving and inclusive. We are a church that welcomes and accepts everyone as they are, where your mind is nourished as much as your soul.
