We are called to share the Good News of the Gospel and minister to our community and to the world. Following Christ's teachings, we open our church and ourselves to all, in a spirit of fellowship and mutual support.
We are working toward a vision of “no longer strangers” in our communities. We are achieving this by seeing the strangers in our own lives, by offering them servant hospitality through Jesus Christ, and by creating ecumenical partnerships with other faith communities. We are honoring this vision by openly affirming God's love for all people."

How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" - Psalm 133:1
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God." - Matthew 5:9
The members of First Congregational Church are concerned about the problem of gun violence in our community. Gun violence reduces peace and civility in communities and promotes fear of others. The use of guns to resolve conflict is in direct opposition to the mission and vision that we have identified for our ministry.
We respect the right of individuals to responsibly own guns. However, we believe that bringing firearms into our place of worship and fellowship is detrimental to our ministry. It is our policy that guns are not allowed on our property at any time.
It is our hope and prayer that all people will seek non-violent solutions to conflict and will promote charity and love with others in their neighborhoods and the wider community.
